'Pocky' advert
With the brief about an advert for 'Pocky', the deadline arriving soon, it's been quite a while to get things up and running, but painting is well underway and collaboration of everything is coming together nicely. Just getting together enough resources to make it spooky and more scientifical!

Sun, sea, sand and the sniffles!
Original painting for illustrating the given article
Playing with ideas, felt it didn't quite give the quality I wanted, so looked back at the original and tweaked some bits to arrive at this:
That in mind, heres the final collaboration included in the article:
Hard at Work!
Been hard at work the past few weeks and realised, wait, BLOG!! With a new laptop, I had no idea what my password is but it's all under control!!
So heres the work I've been producing and refining over the past few weeks!
We'll start with an article about small victories...
Realising that it didn't quite fit, and with some direction adjusted my idea, so then arrived at this:
So Overall the production with a few more adjustments, the article ended up looking like this:
Still adjustments to be made on the centre victory symbol!

The social gathering!
So far, my productivity for the morning... Here's the first mock up sketch of the new brief, nearly have all the characters in now and trying to decide how best to colour and evolve it.
The idea behind it is that it is a scene of looking outside of a cafe window, onto the street. Some characters interact, others go about their business, I tried to keep to my original characters as much as possible so they don't start to look like one another.

Characters from summer
Inspired by the work of Otto Dix, his dark humour and representation of the human figure and various patterns attracted me to his work.
Jim flora's work is imminent in this piece, I enjoyed the energy of his work and the shapes that transpired with minimal colouring and straight edges.
One of my favourite illustrators is Shaun Tan, his technique inspires me, the gentle lines and tones reminds me of a secretive mood, his characters emotions are down played and I love his take on illustrative artwork.
Based on the work of Alberto Cerriteno, a new artist to me, his work jumped out at me with its patterned liveliness. I loved the colours he used and the development of figures from use of various shapes.
Based on a short project work by Oliver Jeffers, his 'A world with Coffee' made me realize that with minimal materials can create something illustratively humorous and different.
The Summer has come to a close, that doesn't mean my art work took on a halt. The past few months have encouraged me to develop my art work and explore the various techniques of other illustrators.
This body of work represents different characters in a range of poses. Inspired by my own feelings, and illustrators I enjoyed for a number of reasons, this artwork are all female with various feelings that I have encountered over the Summer.
