Redoing

In the process of redoing some of the pieces... discovered today that darker colours looked horrific when printing. At least it looks a little more child friendly and jolly now with the changes. Still some touch ups to do but coming along for the mounting and final show being prepared for next week.

Corrections

Realised colour was off, technique and even text was different so some quick fixes to give the book an actual story line!

Fish and man book coming along

The makings of the next book are coming along, a few tweaks here and there and going for a bit of an odd binding to the book... see how it goes.

binding page one complete! :)

This book may be bigger than I originally thought!

Testing out the flip book

Having a look if the pages and alignments are all set before backing, stitching and binding... caused some level of excited entertainment in the household!

And competition wise?!

Here's a sneak peak at the remake for the Macmillan Book competition that is in progress:

It's been a while!

It's been a while but have got my butt in gear and heading in the right direction! Here's what I've been up to!

Based on Kurt Schwitters, Merz Fairy Tales. I'm currently in the making stages of an old flip book, an interactive artwork book that has three sections and enables the viewer to choose different heads on different bodies on different legs etc. Doing this on the particular tale of 'The Story about the Rabbit'. Here's what's occurring so far:

Moody mood board!

Mood board (kinda, I guess) for the FMP...

Including a little bit of everything, at least it gives me a good direction to head in. Lets hope I get on top of the game here and keep up with the amount of work I have going on. Competitions are side lining but I'm involving a large amount of work in at once to be able to keep it fresh.

General idea is a collectors edition short story book set. Involving, the stories in a book, card collectables, much like cigarette cards and then some 3D pieces to bring it to life. Hopefully building a good repertoire of displayable work.

There once was a tiny mouse

First page and illustration, looking at how I can collaborate my ideas into a style that represents both the artists, story and my own interests. Kurt Schwitters 'There once was a tiny mouse'.

Original painting scanned in to do some work on CS6.

And then after some work, I think theres still some bits to do, hands, feet etc. But you get the idea!

Collaboration

Collaborating a look to my Final Major Project, seems harder than it looks but trying out a collaboration between Shaun Tan and Salvador Dali... Sketches will appear soon when they actually look like an image!

New year

New Year, New Work.
Time to get organised and in the zone for the final months of my 3 year university experience. Luckily enough I have invested into a few of my favourite Shaun Tan books from over the christmas holiday, that and the Special Illustrated Collectors Edition of 'Stylist' magazine.
The list of work is endless but never the less I feel fresh and ready for the work ahead, work will be present on here as I charge on through.
